Luciana's still hot!
For those hiding under a rock, Luciana is BLOWING THE EFF UP! She's quickly climbing the charts and beating other artists, including Lady GaGa!
In recent years, you may know her from her collaboration hits with Bodyrox - "Yeah Yeah" and not so long ago, smash hit "I Like That!" with Richard Vision & Static Revenger.
Luciana is not only a recent pioneer in the electronic music industry, but also a big advocate for Gay Rights, and that is worth a million heartfelt thanks and gratitude from her fans that strive every day for equality!
Club Drama's very own DJ, Starr went up to Sacramento, CA for their annual Gay Pride festival where they anticipated the ever-so-saucy Luciana to perform! The weather kept a lot of non-waterproof folks in and even though the crowd at the festival was small, Luciana performed on the main stage with the same amount of energy and enthusiasm you would find her giving at any other show! For those that were not able to catch her at Badlands the night prior, this was such an amazing treat! DJ Starr along with her Girlfriend and friends were right up front, singing, dancing and otherwise rocking-the-eff-out! Starr was even handed the mic for a small vocal cameo during her hit with Bodyrox, Yeah Yeah ;) We'll be posting the video footage soon!
DJ Starr with Luciana!
Prior to her performance, we had a chance to meet and greet with Luciana! She was full of life, charm and kisses for everyones cheeks! It's always heart warming to meet one of your favorite artists and know that they're truly nice people!
Her new hit, "I'm Still Hot" is quickly becoming the hottest jam of the year! Expect to hear her perform it LIVE at this years SF Pride festival and if you don't catch her there, well, you KNOW Starr will be dropping her hits at the Indie Oasis Stage all day long at the Pride festival on Sunday along with Drama's resident DJ, Lifeline! As well as Six and Candy (Code, Get Lucky), Medic (DOPE) and Blondie K and sub0ctave (Fringe, Electric Feel)

Club Drama pays tribute to LCD Soundsystem in June
Last month at Club Drama was super fun. Thank You all for coming out to dance with us. The energy inside Uptown was electric!
We are proud to announce that we will be paying tribute to dance/punk/electro pioneer, LCD Soundsystem in June.
RSVP on Facebook at
LCD Soundsystem is the musical side project of DJ/Producer James Murphy, co-founder of New York City dance/punk label DFA Records. Formed in 2001, the music of LCD Soundsystem can also be described as a mix of alternative dance and post punk, along with elements of disco and funk.
LCD Soundsystem gained attention with its first single, “Losing My Edge”. The song, which sounds like the boastings of a music geek put to an electronic beat, received acclaim in 2002. Murphy released a double album simply titled LCD Soundsystem in February of 2005 to critical acclaim. The first disk of the album contains new music and the second contains re-releases of songs previously released as singles. The opening track “Daft Punk Is Playing At My House” entered the uk Top 40 in March 2005.
On December 8, 2005 the group received nominations for two Grammys in the electronica category for their self-titled album and in the Dance category for “Daft Punk Is Playing At My House”. This album was also chosen as one of Amazon.com’s Top 100 Editor’s Picks of 2005.
In March 2007, the band released their second album entitled Sound Of Silver. The album has spawned four singles including “North American Scum”, “All My Friends”, “Someone Great” and “Time to Get Away”. Sound Of Silver saw a move towards a more traditional song writing approach whilst still maintaining the production values of their eponymous debut effort. This has resulted in the album appearing in numerous critic’s end of year lists and another Grammy nomination for best electronic/dance album of 2007.
On February 5th, 2011, James Murphy announced the band’s breakup, citing an interest in pursuing other projects as a record producer. The same day, the band’s final performance was announced - their biggest headlining show ever at New York’s Madison Square Garden on April 2nd of 2011. In the show’s controversial onsale, the arena sold out in seconds due to scalpers allegedly buying tickets in mass amounts, and denying the opportunity for most fans to buy tickets. After public outrage, the band announced four more shows at New York’s Terminal 5, to take place the week before the final show at MSG.
Come out to Club Drama on June 30th to give a final farewell to LCD Soundsystem. We look forward to seeing all of your beautiful faces on the dancefloor!

Club Drama is heating up!
We had so much fun last month celebrating the sweet sounds of ROBYN and are very excited to announce our artist spotlight for Club Drama for May.
Our artist spotlight for May are Electro pioneers LADYTRON.
Four identical figures standing on stage, blasting out edgy electro pop anthems with edginess and flair. This is LADYTRON. A quartet composed of Helen Marnie, Daniel Hunt, Reuben Wu, and Mira Aroyo. They've taken the UK and US by storm, and toured extensively. They released their fifth studio album "GRAVITY THE SEDUCER" in September 2010, with their newest single ACE OF HZ and their first Greatest Hits compilation LADYTRON BEST OF 00-10 in January 2011.
Ladytron formed by chance through meetings in bars and parks. In mid-1999 they set out in an unusual way, ignoring London to play their debut show in a Paris bowling alley, and releasing their debut single "He Took Her To A Movie". Following their debut show in Paris, Ladytron toured all over Europe, playing for frenzied electro kids in Berlin, Barcelona, and Rome. They slowly built a reputation as one of the most interesting new electronic acts around. Their skewed approach to crafting pop music has rewarded the group with international success and acclaim.
Their summer 2000 PLAYGIRL single went even further. pre-empting the Electroclash movement and drawing attention from the likes of FELIX DA HOUSECAT and TIESTO.
As diverse as their nationalities and backgrounds may be, the musical influences of LADYTRON are possibly even more so. A listen to tracks like PLAYGIRL from their 2001 release "604" and COMMODORE ROCK from their 2000 self titled EP calls to mind what the Electro movement is all about!
Come dance with us on May 26th and help us celebrate the music of one of the Electro movement pioneers, LADYTRON.
