Local Spotlight: Black Balloon

If you like the DIY, grittier electro-punk-indie sound, you absolutely HAVE To check out Black Balloon!!!

Front man, Tobias Hawkins stems from a long line of local rock, indie & punk bands. Partnered with Charles Stella, Sid E Rak & Liam Hart - they produce a unique sound that one can only describe as "DIY Indie-Punk-Electro-Rock-Shoegaze!" rolled into one. It's like a burrito of music that "people in black or indie fashions" like to listen to. One can never really tell where all this sub-genre nonsense is going!

Listeners have said things like "They have a pretty unique sound, you can tell they're gonna make it big!" and "I love the energy they have [on stage]! They really connect with the crowd!"

Like them on Facebook!
Free MP3's and other info at www.blackballoon.net

They have also currently made it to Phase 2 of the Pop-Up Live contest to receive the chance to play in the Live Music capital of the US, Austin TX! Please check back on THIS PAGE HERE on Oct 31st to vote for Black Balloon and give these local guys some love to hit the big stage!

Holy Ghost!-I Will Come Back

Cannot get enough of Holy Ghost!

Monarchy performing at Folsom Street Fair 2011

Monarchy are the latest installment in the history of mystery in electropop. Very little is known about them apart from the fact that there are two band members and that the sound they make is amazing: swirling, symphonic, electronic bliss-disco with coolly emotional vocals. These sounds could have come from two or three times as many musicians. They are rumored to be French Canadian and English, and they live and work in London. Monarchy are quickly rising on the electro/indie charts, with new singles "I Won't Let Go", "Love Get Out Of My Way", and "The Phoenix Alive" from their debut album AROUND THE SUN. They will be performing at the 12th Street Stage at 5:10 PM on Sunday September 25th! Get out there and support these guys.
